Muskegon Michigan - start of the return trip
The boat had a good winter. We came in mid-May to uncover and clean. She looked in very good shape.
We arrived in Michigan Monday night, June 10. On Tuesday we put all of the stuff that we had brought to NY to the boat and put it on board. We then went to get the rest of the stuff, cushions and sails mostly, that we had stored in MI. On Wednesday the boat went into the water in the morning. There was a minor repair required; packing the propeller shaft to prevent leaking. That did not take long. After that we unloaded the cushions and sails, then went to get groceries and fuel. While Greg returned the returned the rental, Paul stowed the rest of the stuff that was not on board. Upon returning from the rental return, we put up the sails and dodger (the canopy over the door and finished some odds and ends before dinner. We should be setting sail tomorrow Thursday June 13.
All of the stuff that we had to stow.

One lesson that I will have to relearn is to walk hunched over. I've hit my head on the boom twice and the doorway to the head (bathroom) several times. It may take a few days as it did last year.
We ate dinner at The Deck in Muskegon. It is a place on the beach that has bands every night all summer. We listened to Pretzel Logic and had Shifting Sands IPA by Pigeon Point Brewing. It was a ver very good IPA, somewhere between a West Coast and Fruity. Not too much of either. It is a great venue with Adirondack chairs in the sand in front of the stage, bar tables, tables where the chairs are swings, and tables with servers. A great atmosphere.
This year's plan is a little different. We are planning to go up to the northern part of Georgian Bay for a couple of days. We are not sure if we'll cross Lake Huron to the thumb or stay on the Canadian side until Port Huron MI. The at the end we are planning to take the Erie Canal from Tonawanda, near Buffalo, to Cayuga Lake and Ithaca NY.
Wish us luck.
Enjoy the adventure!
